BAY ENGINEERING BURSARY 2022

Bay Engineering (Pty) Ltd is a 51% black female-owned engineering and outsourced manufacturer based in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, South Africa. The company supplies major customers in the mining, rail, electrical motor, manufacturing and agricultural industries and it has CNC and conventional machining, fabrication and welding capabilities.

The Bay Engineering (Pty) Ltd Bursary is aimed at employment equity candidates studying Mechanical Engineering degrees that are relevant and applicable to Bay Engineering.

The bursary has been developed to assist South African Citizens who are in financial need and are currently studying at any recognised Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) tertiary institution in South Africa. Potential candidates must be studying towards a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Prospective applicants are those who are: hardworking, able to work under pressure, consummate in maths, practical in the application of their studies and have a high degree of organisational skills while remaining adaptable to changes and challenges in their environment. Applicants must have completed their first year of study at a tertiary institution and have achieved an academic history of at least 70% in all subjects.

About the Bursary

The Bay Engineering (Pty) Ltd Bursary will contribute towards tuition fees, study material fees, and accommodation of the successful applicants. This will be paid directly to the Tertiary Institution. The bursary is valid for a period not exceeding 1 (one) year, subject to renewal. Applicants who continue to pass all subjects and achieve an aggregate of above 70% in their tertiary studies may potentially be eligible for renewal.

Eligibility

Prospective applicants have to meet ALL the requirements of The Bay Engineering (Pty) Ltd Bursary in order to be considered for the bursary programme.

Requirements:

  1. Applications are open to South African Citizens ONLY.
  2. Applicants must possess a valid South African Identity Document Applicants must be Employment Equity candidates.
  3. Applicants must preferably be in their third year of study in Mechanical Engineering and passed all subjects at a recognised Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) tertiary institution.
  4. Applications are only open to those who have achieved an aggregate of at least 70%.
  5. Applicants must have proof of enrolment for second-year or higher at a recognised Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) tertiary institution.
  6. Applicants must be computer literate with competency in MS Office.
  7. Successful applicants may be required to sign a contract with the company for a period to be determined.

  4. Motivation as to why the applicant should be considered for the bursary.
  5. Failure to adhere to the above requirements will result in a rejected application Applications will open on the 20th December 2021 and close on the 22nd January 2022. All late applications will be rejected.
  6. Potential applicants will be shortlisted and will be invited in for an interview. Should you not receive any feedback within two (2) weeks of the closing date, please consider the application as unsuccessful.
